Meet the Superintendent
Mike Hayden
Michael Hayden is currently the Superintendent of Schools in the Clyde-Savannah Central School District. He earned his CAS in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport in 2007. Mr. Hayden began his administrative leadership work as the Junior High Assistant Principal in Auburn and Middle School Principal at Trumansburg before arriving at Clyde-Savannah in 2012 as Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and became Superintendent of Schools in 2014. From 2020-22, Mr. Hayden served as the President of the Wayne County Superintendent's organization. In that roll he helped navigate school district's in the county through the COVID-19 pandemic. He currently serves on the House of Delegates for the New York State Counsel of Superintendents and has recently been selected to join the Institute for Education and Innovation for 2022-23. His work with community schools has brought regional and national positive attention to the Clyde-Savannah School District.
Recognized at an early age for his exceptional aptitude at percussion, Mr. Hayden performed throughout the Southwestern United States as well as Central and Latin America with the acclaimed Long Island Youth Orchestra. He is a graduate of the Crane School of Music, where he earned a Bachelor and Master of Music in Music Education. Mr. Hayden taught instrumental and general music in the Westhampton Beach School District before relocating to the Finger-Lakes and sharing his musical gifts in the Sodus Central School District.
