Clyde-Savannah Valedictorian & Salutatorian 2010
Clyde-Savannah is pleased to announce the
Valedictorian & Salutatorian for the Class of 2010.
Valedictorian, Anthony "Tony" Drahms, has a remarkable cumulative grade point average of 99.64% and will graduate high school with 36 college credits. Tony devoted many hours of service each year at his church as an altar server. He holds many service oriented leadership positions: Student Council, Vice President of class of 2010, Vice President of the National Honor Society, Vice President of Drama Club, Treasurer of Spanish Club and Treasurer of Varsity Club. His prowess in athletic competition has gained him many awards in JV and Varsity Baseball, JV and Varsity Football, Varsity Indoor Track and Varsity Swimming. He also competes in the academic arena through Masterminds and Envirothon. His community involvement includes service through Interact and as an honorary student member of the Clyde Chamber of Commerce. Anthony was a 2009 delegate to Boys State and currently has a part-time job at Secor Lumber where he has been for the past two years. Tony has an artistic side as well. During his high school career he has played Trumpet as first chair in both Band and Jazz Band and performed a variety of leading roles in C-S Drama Club plays. In the fall Tony will attend Rochester Institute of Technology pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Anthony is the son of Richard and Andrea Drahms of Savannah.
Salutatorian, Kristen Rice, has a cumulative grade point average of 98.57% and will graduate high school with 27 college credits. Kristen is an active member of several clubs, including Masterminds, Yearbook and National Honor Society. In addition to her academic excellence and club memberships, she has been deeply active in sports at Clyde-Savannah; participating in Varsity Swimming for two years and Varsity Tennis for six years, three of which she played 1st singles and led as team captain. She has received the scholar Athlete Award over multiple seasons. An accomplished musician, Kristen has studied piano for eleven years and has been in both Band and Jazz Band all through school. Kristen holds a job at Wayne Cooperative Insurance Company, where she has been employed since 2007. But it is Kristen's love of art; especially photography, that has driven her to pursue training towards a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in photojournalism. To this end, in the fall, Kristen will attend Rochester Institute of Technology. Kristen is the daughter of Jeffery and Erika Rice of Clyde.
