Reminder: Budget Vote Correction on Calendar

logoThere is an error in the school calendar that was mailed home at the beginning of the school year. The budget vote will take place on Tuesday, May 21, not on Tuesday, May 14 as the calendar indicates.

Voting will take place from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Clyde-Savannah High School gymnasium.

What's On The Ballot?

Proposition 1: School Budget

RESOLVED, that for the 2019-20 school year, the Board of Education of the Clyde-Savannah Central School District, Wayne and Seneca Counties, New York, is hereby authorized to spend $20,747,974 to meet the estimated costs and expenditures for said school year, and the Board of Education is hereby authorized to levy the necessary taxes for said school year.

Proposition 2: Bus Purchase

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Clyde-Savannah Central School District is hereby authorized to pay the cost of one (1) 65 passenger school bus, one (1) 59 passenger wheelchair bus, and one (1) 30 passenger school bus, including incidental expenses in connection therewith, at maximum estimated cost of $320,068, and said amount, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby authorized to be expended from the Transportation Vehicles Reserve Fund, or at the option of the Board, budgetary fund balance.

Proposition 3: Transportation Vehicles Reserve Fund II

RESOLVED, that the Clyde-Savannah Central School District, Wayne County, New York, is hereby authorized to establish a capital reserve fund pursuant to Section 3651 of the Education Law to be designated "Transportation Vehicles Reserve Fund II" in order to pay for the cost of the acquisition of school buses, vans, and other transportation vehicles, including original equipment and expenses in connection therewith, at an ultimate amount of $2,000,000, plus accrued interest and investment earnings, with a probable term of ten years, the source of funding to be surplus dollars when it closes its books every June 30 and/or legally available funds available to the District.

Proposition 4: Student Ex-Officio Board Member

RESOLVED, to authorize and direct a student to act as an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Education, who shall be entitled to sit with the Board of Education at all public meetings and participate in all public meetings and hearings, but who shall not have a vote and will not participate in executive session.

Board of Education Election

There are three open seats with five candidates. You can vote for up to three candidates, including Write-In's. The three candidates that receive the most votes will be elected to three-year terms expiring on June 30, 2022.
