Students and staff treated bus drivers to an appreciation breakfast at the elementary school.

Clyde-Savannah Central School District staff and students showed their appreciation for bus drivers with a breakfast at the elementary school. Bus drivers enjoyed coffee, donuts, cookies, bagels, juice, and other treats that staff brought in to recognize them for all the hard work they do. The event was held on Wednesday, January 23.

Elementary School principal Katy Lumb expressed her appreciation for the bus drivers and all the staff members who contributed to the breakfast.

“Over the summer, we were thinking about our staff and we realized that we don’t do enough to thank our wonderful bus drivers,” said Lumb. “They do so much for our students, and we’re happy to give back to them.”

After they finished breakfast, the bus drivers received a special visit from pre-school students, who sang “Wheels On The Bus” to thank their bus drivers. The performance was met with a loud cheer and a round of applause from the drivers.

Bus drivers also received a small knitted bag that was filled with small keepsakes meant to remind them of why they drive students.

Lumb noted that she looks forward to having the breakfast again in the years to come.
